This original oil painting on canvas, titled “Sights,” was inspired by a photo Voron came across while looking through the Arizona Memory Project photo archives. Voron is fascinated by history, particularly the history of the state she grew up in and the town she lives in, Tempe.

The image evokes thoughts of feminine strength, skill, and perseverance. It made Voron realize how fortunate she is to live in the time she does. She feels a connection to the young woman in the image, imagining what life must have been like for her back in the desert before modern society.
